If you have lost your original Deed Poll done through Loh Eben Ong LLP and do not have any certified true copy, then you may apply for Lost Deed Poll CTC Online. We do not warrant that a copy of your Deed Poll is still in our archive, and all application is subject to a copy of your Deed Poll in our archive. Terms apply.

We do not process Deed Poll application for change of name in your Singapore Identity Card (IC or NRIC) to be signed overseas. We require the applicant to be in Singapore to sign the formal Deed Poll in the presence of one of our lawyers.

Replacement of Singapore IC has to be done in person at ICA (and/or via ICA’s website, as the case may be). Applicants who are overseas are advised to go down to ICA in Singapore to alter the name in their ICs with their Deed Poll.

By Singapore law, an IC holder who changes his name should apply for a replacement identity card within 28 days. You may visit ICA’s website for more information.

If you are currently overseas and intend to return to Singapore soon (temporarily or permanently), you may apply for a Deed Poll first through our websites or SG Lawyers mobile app, and make an appointment via our booking system.

If you have an identity cared, you should apply for a replacement identity card within 28 days after you have changed your name by way of a Deed Poll.

The new IC will be produced and issued to you within a day, but please check with ICA.

Payment of our charges is to be made at our office when you attend to sign the Deed Poll, or at our Booking Site when you make an appointment (if available).  You may pay by PayNow, NETS or Cash. If you are an Adult, please bring along your original Singapore Pink Identity Card (NRIC) / Passport / NS Green IC, or Singapore Blue Identity Card (for Singapore PR).

For Minor (child under 21 years), the Parents who are signing the Deed Poll has to bring his/her IC or Passport, and the Minor’s original Birth Certificate to evidence the relationship. If the Minor has an identity card, please also bring it along to our office.

If the Minor’s Birth Certificate is not in the English language, the Parent shall bring the original Birth Certificate with the certified English translated version.

If one parent is signing for a Minor’s Deed Poll, except that he/she is the sole parent mentioned in the Birth Certificate, he/she has to bring along either (1) death certifcate of the other parent, or (2) Court Order empowering him/her to unilaterally change the name of his/her child.

Upon receipt of your submission, we usually require about 1 to 3 working days (depending on office workload, etc). Once you have submitted online, please book an appoinment at our Booking site.

Appointments are strictly subject to the availability of our lawyers, and we are at liberty to reschedule or cancel an appointment by giving you short notice (2 hours prior to appointment time) in the event of a sudden unavailability of our lawyers. In that event, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

During holiday or festive seasons (such as Christmas, Chinese New Year, school holidays), the time frame may be longer. Our office is usually close on eves of major public holidays, such as Chinese New Year, and New Year.

Subject to the number of appointments at the time and availability of lawyers, typically, the whole process usually takes about 15 to 30 mins.

The Singapore Embassy or Consulate Office overseas are unable to assist in these matters. By Singapore law, an IC holder who changes his name should apply for a replacement identity card within 28 days. Please check with ICA on your queries.

The Applicant will have to produce the original deed poll, IC, passport ,one IC photo and a replacement fee. The new IC will be produced and issued to the Applicant within a day.

If the Deed Poll is not done through Loh Eben Ong LLP, then please approach the law firm or lawyer who had assisted you in your Deed Poll to obtain a copy or a certified true copy.

If your Deed Poll was done through our law practice, we do not warrant that we will be able to furnish you a copy of it. However, if for Deed Poll signed within the last 6 years, we may have an soft copy of it, and our office may furnish you a copy or a certified true copy of your Deed Poll subject to payment of our relevant fees, and our verification of your identity document.

Please note that notwithstanding your Deed Poll was done through our law practice, we do not guarantee that we are in possession of a copy, nor that we may furnish you a copy thereof.

In our Deed Poll Online form, there is a section on application for certified true copy of your Deed Poll by our lawyer. This is optional, and is a matter of preference or choice.

You may wish to request for certified true copy of your Deed Poll for backup purposes in case you lose your original Deed Poll, or if various organisation or authority requested for it. For example, if you have lost your original, you may present a certified true copy of the Deed Poll to the person or entity or organisation asking for it.

Generally, subject to our standard fee, a copy of the Deed Poll is to be certified by our Lawyer if it is for use in Singapore, and certified by our Notary Public if it is to be use overseas (outside Singapore).
